When Alessandra was traveling through Taormina, Sicily, she became consumed by the life around the town.
While strolling around town, exploring every nook, she heard a sound she could not ignore- live jazz music.
She tracked it down into the the lobby of a hotel.
As she took her first steps into the terrace, she became hypnotized by the sight.
It was the most beautiful view where the sky and the ocean became one.
While she listened to the music, she wandered around the hotel.
She found herself in a dimly lit hallway, where she stumbled upon a painting that left her breathless.
She had never seen anything like it before.
She does not remember what this painting looked like, but she remembered the feeling it left behind.
As the trip came to a close, she found that she would still think of the painting that brought her a myriad of emotions.
She realized the emotion the painting invoked in her was something she wanted to recreate in others.
When she got back home, she studied art until she found an artist that became her teacher; Gustav Klimt.
Klimt used gold as one of his mediums and she became obsessed with the application of gold leaf.
With this new found love for art, she ran with her imagination using gold foil and the repetitious cycle of spirals.
This is her journey.
